Rodney Lewis — blog | | | | | | | | I have always been interested in how the Internet could be used to make a living. The trouble for me was, whenever I searched for how to make money on the Internet even the highly regarded, name-brand search engines only returned a bunch of scams. I wasn't into pyramid schemes where some gain but most lose, even if I was one of the few gaining. It is heart-breaking to me to see ordinarily virtuous people get swept up in the lie that in order for them to win others must lose. I was also suspicious of those who said they have some sort of secret way to make make money. Anyone who knows anything about security theory knows that secrets are weaknesses, and reliance on them can have dire consequences. Secrets run contrary to the spirit of the Internet, the philosophy that information should be, wants to be, free. Obviously some big money-making secret becomes useless once it is no longer a secret. Everyone deserves to succeed and prosper, I want everyone to make it, not just some elite handful privy to some stupid secret. I became interested in earning money while helping others do so as well once I learned that the answer to making money online was not readily available. I was also inspired by all the new things a person could do from home, in their bathrobe if they wanted, because of the Internet. If you can spend money from a computer, it seemed a natural corollary that you should be able to make money with it. Stephen King once said don't give them what they want, give them what you want, so I set out to create the very website that I had been searching the Net for during the summer of 2002. It was important to me that the site be a reflection my values of not succeeding in life by fucking over others. It's different if I succeed because I do what I do well and others don't succeed because they don't do what they do well, that is regrettably inevitable. With a lot of research I soon understood that the key to earning an online income was going to involve a veritable goulash of methods, the combination of which would be unique for each individual based on their interests, talents, and available time and budget. It was important to me that there be so many different options there would be something for everyone regardless of education or income. It's my greatest hope this website adds to your life.
